As the name — Duracell DPP-600HD Powerpack 600 Jump Starter & Emergency Power Source with Radio — suggests this is more than just your run of the mill jump starter. Yes it plays the role of the jump starter: in that emergency situation you can attach the Powerpack to your vehicle’s battery with the cables (included) and anything up to 8 cylinder models are no problem, and that’s you on the road again.
The DPP600HD is also what Duracell refer to as an Emergency Power Source. The Duracell Powerpack 600 also provides ample power to recharge and operate cordless and cellular telephones. At the same time, it can operate emergency lights, televisions and a wide range of DC-powered products. The Emergency Power Source is also handy on the remote job site or even the family picnic where you are completely isolated from the mains electricity supply. It can run lights, laptop, hair drier, fans, hand blenders, whatever you require.
The build in clock and radio and light mean you have a pretty useful resource on the work or camp site or broken down along the isolated roadside. The DC charging cable allows the unit to charge as you travel so it’s always fully charged for use.
What makes the Duracell DPP600HD stand out is the sheer range of functions it can perform and it’s real utility/usefulness. It’s not just a toy or a gadget to amuse; rather you can imagine getting real use and value from this product. Especially if you travel a lot, camp, or work on isolated sites/locations you can envisage using this repeatedly.

Is everyone happy? Of course not. Many of the few comments of a negative nature appear to be from those who received faulty units, whether damaged in transit or whatever. I understand the disappointment and hassle if any new purchase doesn’t work but I trust all customers understand that this can happen with any product. The real issue is the ability to return/replace the product if it isn’t satisfactory.
Our conclusion based on all the reviews we found is that the Duracell DPP-600HD Powerpack 600 Jump Starter is a star among jump starters and power packs. If you just want a straightforward jump starter you can purchase one for less than the cost of this unit. But if you want value for money and something which can be used on a regular basis for a variety of purposes then we can heartily recommend the Duracell DPP600HD as a worthwhile investment.
